Fall Seminar Series on the Gospel of Matthew
This fall, in the Discipleship hour (9:10 to 9:50 a.m. on Sundays), we are tackling Matthew. This is the ninth annual fall seminar series moderated by Hillary Raining and Tom Allen (this year with Kristen Ostendorf taking an active part). By “seminar” we mean that most Sundays, two parishioners will be presenting a section of Matthew, running groupdiscussion of questions they have identified and presented.
Our first session will be on Sunday, September 15th, in the library. Kristen will outline how the “New Testament” came to be what it is. Tom will talk about how Matthew fits in that account, how it differs in emphasis from the other Gospels, and what we might make of those differences.
This seminar series is always fun, and a really good way to get to know each other. Whether or not you will be a discussion leader, please consider coming to the sessions, starting September 15th. Thank you.
