The Rev. Laura Palmer, Interim Rector
St. Christopher’s Vestry and Wardens are pleased to announce that Reverend Laura Palmer has accepted the call to the position of Interim Rector beginning October 1, 2025. Reverend Palmer will be joining us from St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Philadelphia where she has served as an Interim Rector since 2023. Prior to that she was Chaplain, Oncology and High-Risk Obstetrics at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Before her call to the ministry, Reverend Palmer was a journalist. She is a New York Times bestselling co-author, award-winning independent television producer and former syndicated newspaper columnist nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. She has authored or co-authored nine non-fiction books and has extensive experience in reporting, producing, and writing. Her magazine writing includes a cover story for the New York Times Magazine on the combat nurses in Vietnam.
She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Oberlin College and a Master of Divinity, Psychiatry and Religion degree from Union Theological Seminary. Reverend Palmer was ordained in 2019.
Reverend Palmer has a daughter living in New York city, and two siblings who live in the Midwest. She enjoys gardening, walking her dog and being outdoors.

The Rev. Suzanne Clune, Interim Associate Rector
St. Christopher’s Vestry and Wardens are pleased to announce that the Reverend Suzanne E. Clune has accepted the call to the position of Interim Associate Rector beginning October 1. Reverend Suzanne Clune will be joining us from St. George’s Episcopal Church in Ardmore where she served as a Seminarian Intern.
Reverend Clune graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2023. She is currently a Ph.D. student there in Practical Theology, and her doctoral work focuses on Christian practices and how churches can live out their faith within the parish and the wider community.
Reverend Clune has a Certificate in Anglican Studies from The Stephenson School for Ministry, an M.A. in Medieval Studies from Fordham University, and a B.A. in History from Gettysburg College.
While newly ordained in June 2025, Reverend Clune has many years of experience in church leadership and collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders. She has served as a Chaplain Intern, taught adult theology classes, and created learning content to help people grow in relationship with God.
Her professional experience before her call to the ministry includes the creation of functional utilitarian and abstract textiles. In addition to working as an Antiques Dealer she taught history, philosophy, and social studies in Tarrytown, NY and Whitemarsh, PA.
Reverend Clune has three adult children and lives in Collegeville with her husband of thirty years.
