Magnifying Mary: Looking Upon Advent Through the Eyes of Jesus’ Mother

In this Advent discipleship offering, the Rev. Callie Swanlund will guide us deeper into the story of Mary, Mother of God. Many people think devotion to Mary is something for Roman Catholics, but her story is fascinating and her role in the life of Christ is pivotal. Together we’ll reflect on divine friendship as seen through Elizabeth and Mary, Mary’s poem The Magnificat, the manifestations of Mary throughout the world (such as Our Lady of Guadalupe), and the confusion about so many Marys in scripture. Our minds will be illuminated and our hearts will be stretched to prepare a way for Jesus in this season. This class meets on Sundays at 9:10 a.m., November 28th – December 19th, both at St. Christopher’s and by zoom.
