Shrove Tuesday: To Go Kits & Bonfire

Shrove Tuesday is always a great celebration, the “feast before the fast” as Lent begins the following day – Ash Wednesday. We’re offering a couple of ways to participate in the celebration this year: pick up a Shrove Tuesday To Go kit (complete with pancake mix and tools for your own at-home feast) at church on Sunday, February 27th, and/or come out on Tuesday, March 1st from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. for an outdoor bonfire and cathartic release. On March 1st, we invite individuals of all ages to join us for the burning of palms that we prepare for Ash Wednesday, and also invite you to bring symbols that you want to add to the bonfire to let go of as Lent begins (i.e. tickets to a canceled event, a note that represents grief or heartache, etc.). Hillary will lead us in a cathartic release of our laments.
