SINGing with the Saints
June 28, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Please join us for SINGing with the Saints!
In this series, we will learn to pray alongside the holy people who came before us. We will examine how the natural world intersects in our life with Christ by using ancient traditions that combine saints’ feast days and our beautiful campus.
All events are at 7:00 p.m.:
June 28th – Belated feast of St. John the Baptist: Join us for compline (the bedtime prayers of the church), campfire and a treasure hunt! Ancient traditions that celebrate the life of John the Baptist include lighting bonfires and treasure hunts. This is an all-ages event that will meet on the labyrinth and last about an hour. We will include blessed and holy items that are damaged or no longer useable. Please bring those to be burned, as this is one way to dispose of them properly and with reverence!
July 11th – Early Feast of St. Mary Magdalene: While Mary’s feast day is July 26, we will remember this special friend of Jesus early. We will celebrate a sunset Eucharist outdoors, as legend had it she spent the last part of her life in a cave, living only on the Eucharist. Spend time with us in contemplative prayer and holy communion as darkness falls.
August 15th – Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary: Tradition holds that we bless herbs on this date! We are going to an herb potting and blessing in honor of Jesus’ mother!
These events are sponsored by a micro-grant from TryTank of the Episcopal Church. They are open to anyone in the community who wants to spend some time in nature with God and learn more about our traditions!
