Testimonials from some St. Christopher’s parishioners:

“Susan and I are in Florida but were able to join you on Christmas thanks to streaming. It means a lot to us.  A wonderful church and a wonderful service.”

– Tom and Susan Zug

“St. Christopher’s Church is an amazing network of people who all share a desire to support those around them. As someone that has grown up in the church, I have never felt alone and that is all thanks to the community that is built within the congregation. St. Christopher’s Church is not just a place to spend your Sunday mornings, it’s a place to volunteer and spread kindness. With members ranging from 6 months old to 95 years old, the vibrant atmosphere inspires learning and growth. My family and I have been blessed to call this parish our church and anyone who comes and joins us will not be overlooked. Each member contributes to our ever changing journey through worship and we all learn to grow together. I am forever thankful to be a member of St. Christopher’s Church.”

– Abby Wright

“Finding a spiritual home can be a daunting and emotional challenge. For me, finding St. Christopher’s was providential. Its culture respects and values many differing views and encourages intellectual curiosity. Its New England architecture and unique family disposition provides me with a sense of peace. But that’s not enough. I’m especially gratified that our small congregation is the largest contributor to Outreach activities in the Diocese. St. Christopher’s has become the center of my religious and spiritual life.”

“A few years ago, Shelly and I were not looking for a church, but instead were looking for something to do with our five kids on a beautiful spring afternoon. Shelly suggested we take them to Azalea Day at St. Christopher’s. What we found, in addition to moon bounces and cotton candy, was a community that felt wholesome and comfortable, and a group of people we would want to get to know better. Every time we went back (for church, Sunday school, after-church coffee, future Azalea Days, etc.), our affinity for the St. Christopher’s community grew.”

MY CHURCH After sixty-six years I am leaving the church, Leaving the church I was born in. It’s only the truth when I say it’s a lurch And half of my soul is in mourning.

But there was no need at all for a rigorous search Fore I found a new sunrise a-dawning. At St. Christopher’s church, I lit on a charming new perch And I bask in the sun’s rays all morning!

– A poem by John C. with thanks to St. Christopher’s member George W.

“We love St. Christopher’s because of the nice people.  The service is nice too.  The sermons suck me in…there is a warmth here.  We enjoy the internal aspect.”

“What I love about St. Christopher’s Church is the intimacy of it. It is cozy.  We are a community full of laughter!”

– Peggy Cooke

“What we love about our church is the people, the people, the people!  There is a feeling of community from the clergy, the staff, the vestry and the members. ”

The Hive Testimonials:

I am so glad that I joined the Hive.  I am currently listening to the course, Living in Liminality with Kristen Ostendorf.  She is talking about the Epiphany season and winter and how it relates to what we are going through today with Covid.  I also listened to the Good Grief course.  It was incredible to watch.  I learned a lot about how different griefs can be similar and how you can be a support to those going through grief.  I am so impressed with the courses and what The Hive has to offer.

– Ellen Pemberton

“The Hive…..A home for wellness, spirituality and growth.

Over the past year, The Hive has become more important to my Christian growth. Before this year, I would look at some of the content, but was pretty much just content giving kudos to Hillary as the founder of The Hive. During Lent 2021, I challenged myself to look into The Hive more deliberately. I got more familiar with the layout and rhythm of the website.

It was great to see contributors Hillary Raining, Callie Swanlund, Michelle Bullock, Phyllis Drackley, Kristen Ostendorf popping up with encouragement and strong content. Then, other presenters became important to check in on for their writings and videos. Funny thing happened…..the more I engaged with The Hive, the more things looked interesting to me. God definitely used the content as a growth opportunity for me. I still don’t take advantage of everything The Hive has to offer and I don’t think I ever will, but I’m glad I’ve gotten started. Please let me know if I can sit down and go through The Hive website with you and help get you looking into The Hive. Believe me, if it was daunting, I wouldn’t have done it!!!”

– Linda McConnell

“The Hive has been a real presence in my faith journey. Since the Hive’s early days, I have learned an enormous amount from classes and discussions we’ve experienced, grown from the books we’ve read, mourned and celebrated significant events together. I’m grateful to be part of this community of faithful friends, both on the website and on Facebook. It has been vital to me during these past pandemic years. Thank you to Hillary for her inspired idea and to everyone involved in making the Hive all that it is.”

– Phyllis Drackley

“As I recall my HIVE experiences, I immediately visualize a very large colorful Bee Hive … enclosing within unlimited opportunities and experiences.  Each topic I have explored I find has been an adventure and knowledge to my mind and body.

……challenging opportunities
……researching new interests
……experiencing talented authors and speakers

I am filled with gratitude to all who have created a healthy HIVE for our life enrichment.  Thank you Hillary and all who have shared their talent.”
