Sunday Mornings

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

– Matthew 17:20

Sunday Mornings

Families with Children and Youth of all ages are invited to participate in a fun and engaging time on Sunday mornings at St. Christopher’s Church. We are committed to spiritually focused and age-appropriate Christian Education that includes Nursery and Children’s Chapel.

Children’s Chapel – 10:00 a.m.
Children’s Chapel takes place during our 10:00 worship service. Please gather at the back of the church so your child can be a part of the procession. It is for all children in preschool thru 5th grade. At this worship, children, and parents who choose to stay with their children, learn and practice the elements of worship in the Episcopal tradition. Child friendly music, storytelling and a time of prayer, are followed by age appropriate activities for children to learn and have fun.

Youth in Worship

Acolytes
Once a youth enters the 5th grade, she or he has the opportunity to become an active participant in Sunday morning worship, by becoming an acolyte. Acolytes are vital to the movement and flow of the worship service. They lead the processions, light the Gospel, and are ready to serve however they are needed. This is a wonderful way for tweens and teens to learn more about the worship life of the church, and to see the behind-the-scenes St. Christopher’s action on a Sunday morning.

Youth Lay Readers
Youth are invited to proclaim the Word of God in worship, as becoming a Lay Reader. Their voice brings to life the story of scripture, as they read the lectionary readings during worship. Youth who accept this ministry, become a regular part of the rotation of lay readers.

Nursery
Nursery care is offered in our welcoming Nursery Room, just outside of the Parish Hall. You can be sure there is plenty for little ones to do, while parents attend service. The nursery is staffed and opens at 9:00 am for drop off and closes after the 10 am service concludes on Sunday morning.  A pager system is also in place to put parents at ease.
